Estate Planning & Elder Law Attorney, Anchor Law Life & Legacy Planning

John F. Koenig brings more than 25 years of experience helping Wisconsin families protect what matters most. His work is grounded in a simple belief: when families are well educated, they make better decisions.
Through Anchor Law’s education-first approach, John empowers clients with the clarity they need to move forward confidently, keeping loved ones out of court, out of conflict, and aligned with their wishes.
Known for translating complex legal issues into practical, understandable steps, John walks alongside families through the deeply personal process of planning for the future. His calm, steady guidance helps clients feel anchored, not overwhelmed.
John earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and holds a bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and the National Alliance of Attorneys for Alzheimer’s Planning. He is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner, reflecting his commitment to building long-term relationships rather than one-time transactions.
Raised on a small family farm in Indiana, John developed a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility that still shapes his practice today. He and his wife, Andrea, Anchor Law’s Client Services Director, are parents of three grown children and proud grandparents. Outside the office, John enjoys hiking Wisconsin trails, gardening, traveling, and following college basketball.
